As with so many good ideas it’s surprising in retrospect that this didn’t already exist. Korg has, correctly, worked out that laptop musicians get about a bit and that control surfaces that have the bigger footprints than the laptop (i.e., any existing keyboard) are probably going to rain on the parade. Korg’s new nanoKONTROL line look like you could stuff a couple in a moderately-sized laptop bag without too much trouble. After trying to program a chord sequence in Logic using a laptop keyboard in a hospital waiting room last week, I positively swoon into Korg’s waiting embrace.
