More than slightly ridiculoid souvenir product. You can pick up one of these konbu neckties at Hokkaido’s Shin-Chitose airport for JPY1,029. Its lifespan as a tie is limited due to konbu’s inability to cope with humidity, but you can use it to cook with afterward.
